Reason - product differentiation is making a product more attractive to the consumers as well as differentiating it with competitors. Real differences are such differences which actually exists in the product and makes it stand out. Whereas perceived differences are a difference of perception between the firm and consumer where there is a difference between what consumer think the worth of a product is and what the actual worth is. Product differentiation purposes to achieve both of these differences.
