QUESTION 12 Each year the United Nations publishes the Human Development Report, which provides information on the standard of living in nearly every country in the world. The report includes data on real GDP per called the Human Development Index (HDI). The country having the highest GDP per person (like the country Sin) doesn’t mean that the country is also having the highest HDI too; in the HDI list, sin ranked as 5th. This is because of poor standard of living of that country.
Nor becomes the top in the HDI list and 2nd in the GDP; this is the country making balance between higher amount of GDP per person and higher standard of living.
Although the country Aus is 6th in the GDP list, it manages to stay in the 2nd position in the HDI list; this is because of their higher standard of living, like good health, literacy, etc.
HDI is more important than GDP per person because the former includes all of the economic parameter, like GDP, life expectancy, standards, health, literacy, etc.
