Billy is on his way home for Thanksgiving break from his new job. He gets caught in a snowstorm and is taken in by an older couple. After the snowplows have cleared the road, Billy continues home. Billy's father, George, is appreciative of the older couple's action and in an email promises to pay them $600. The older couple, in need of money, accept George's offer. Then, because of an argument between Billy and George, George refuses to pay the older couple the $600.  Can the older couple hold George liable in contract for the services rendered to Billy?

If Billy's father George has written the letter in a legal manner with his signatre included in it, it can be considered as a legal proof that he had to owe them $600. Therefore, they can take this forward to the legal proceedings to claim their amount on the whole.
