Which of the following processes produces oxygen? a) photosynthesis b) water evaporation c) water vapor condensation d) lightning 5. What holds the Earth's atmosphere down? a) the vertical pressure gradient force b) the solar radiation c) the temperature lapse rate d) gravitation

Explanation / Answer

Answer 1 - nitrogen and oxygen

The most abundant gases in the atmosphere are nitrogen which is about 79% and oxygen about 21%. These two are follwed by an inert gas argon which occupies about 8% .

Beyond them there are still some other gases which are present in very less volumes like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide etc.

Answer 2 - B

Variable gases are those which are present in very less and variable volumes in our atmosphere.

Answer 3 - B

Greenhouse gases are those which traps the outgoing radiation and resends them back to the earth which resulting in the rise of average earths temperatures and global warming. The most important greenhouse gases are co2 water vapour and metahne
