Explanation / Answer

Speaking about the positive aspect, stem cell research has led medical experts/ scientists closer to discovering the remedies for birth defects; heart ailments;spinal cord wounds; diabetes etc. Another advantage is the probability that a method to repair/ replace impaired organs can be forged from it. It has the potential of leading to methodologies which may lessen the risks of organ transplantations also. Additionally, by studying closely how stem cells grow, scientists may be able to utilize them for regenerative medicines & cloning

Speaking about the negative aspect , stem cell research is believed to be unethical. Several state that its advantages, however substantial they may be, shouldn’t be permitted to shroud the concern of ethics. Cloning is intensely objected to by people who are against it. It has also been declared illegal in few nations. Another point of contention is that, life should not be compromised for any reason, even if its in the stage of an embryo. Few deem that human life doesn’t start till birth, but persons who argue against it state that an embryo is where life originates, & thus, utilizing it for research is similar to killing.

Hence, it is clearly tough to establish stem cell research as being beneficial or detrimental
