The mean of w is as

W = 8 + 1X where x = 0.23

So, W = 8 + 1*1

W = 9.

Now mean for V is as

V = 9 + 5Y where Y = 1

So V = 9 + 5*1

V = 14.

Now Varience of W = 9/2 = 4.5 ( where 9 is the mean and 2 is the number of varibles i.e. 2)

Varience of V = 14/2 = 7 ( where 14 is a mean and 2 is the number of variables i.e. 2)

Now Coevariance between W and V = 4.5* 7/2-1

So Coevariance between W and V = 31.5

Now correlation between W and V = 31.5/ (20.25* 49)1/2
