Answer:- depreciated; appreciated

Between March 1,2016 and April 1, 2016, the US Dollar depreciated against the British pound; and the British pound appreciated against the British dollar.

As we find by the date provided on March 1, 1.425 dollars were needed to buy 1 british pound as against 1.432 dollars needed on 1st april. This means to buy the same no. of british pound on 1st april more US dollars were needed. Thus the value of US dollars depreciated in the given time period and the British pound appreciated.
