Social factors play a very important role in shaping the education system of an area. Educational institutions work as an agency in imparting education services. The actors too come from the society itself. Whenever there in human behaviour involved it maybe subject to personal bais .Let us explain the situation by taking example of a developing country say India.
In India, the education industry is one of the most blooming sectors for one to invest in. On the demand side we have the increasing population of India and incresing demand for education services wherein everyone wants good quality education for thier kids and on the other side we have a limited supply education services . Although government is trying very hard to increase the number of schools in an area but this policy is going to take some time. The education industry has both government and private players. The government institutions provide affordabe services and the private ones are very expensive. The other associated problems with the government institutions is:-
1. Curroption eats away the funds deployed for the sector
2. Teachers and staff isn't very deligent in fulfilling thier resposibilities
3. Derth of a good environment for studies
4. Students dropping out due to family problems and for work
They say that education provides a base for uplifting the poor. However when the base is so weak the success rate is very low. These government institutions have become sluggish at various levels and does not deliver the necessary goals. Hence this is the very first step in breeding inequality . The right to education has been denied with government institutions in such problems. There is a dire need to revamp the way in which the government sector works . There are some seats reserved for economically underprivilaged in Private schools but the drop out rate there is significantly high as these students face problems coping up with students who have all the facilities at thier disposal. The very bright students may succeed here but the ones who don't get left out.
Factors that may affect these students to stop are :-
1.Increased competitiveness from other students
2. Student might feel out of place because of peer pressure
3. The student may require extra help which might not come from school
4.Teachers handling of the student might not be proper
Out of the four mentioned , the first two come from society and the last two come from agency. However the society has more role to play here. Because it should be morally inculcated in the society to help the people with lesser resources to become equally prosper.
The social change that this policy is looking at is that of acceptance. Just by providing a few seats in the private schools , the problem will not be solved. The student should be given an atmosphere to grow and also a fair and equal chance. This would require a lot of work not just financially but on the mindsets too. The results willl come once the changes are done.
