Explanation / Answer

Immigration in U.S. has been a major source of growth if you see in the history, but with immigration many problems are also coming in picture. According to the people of U.S., immigration brings crime and it also causes unemployment for the citizens. All this is true to some extent. The immigration in U.S. should be selevtive. for example, not everyone should be allowed to come to the country.Factors such as education and jobs skills should be considered before admitting someone as an immigrant.

Most of the immigrants coming to the U.S. are low skilled people. Because of the low skilled labor the economy of U.S. suffers a lot. This is one demerit of immigration. This problem is one of the biggest problems the country is facing and proper measures has to be taken to deal with this problem. Other problems like crime can be dealt with but to solve the problem of low-skilled labor the government has to put real efforts.

Policy to deal with the issue of illegal immigration:

"Expedited removal"
Under this policy, the department can now deport immigrants who are in the U.S. and do not have legal documents. They will be deported immediately.

On the other hand immigration also has some benefits:

In 2013, immigrants added $1.6 trillion to total U.S. gross domestic product. As consumers in local communities, immigrants create demand for small businesses and strengthen the economy. Immigrant entrepreneurs have also played a significant role in advancing technological innovation and creating businesses.
