Question

AGREE OR DISAGREE AND WHY?

The national budget figure in 2012 was $1090 billion, but I wanted to find out the national budget for 2015. The site I used to find out the budget for 2015 is called "Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget", and that site explains that the 2015 federal budget is $439 billion. In the National Budget Simulation, I found that the United States spends too much in certain areas and too little in other areas. The first few areas I cut were the International affair, General science, space, and technology, Energy, Natural Resources and environment, and agriculture by 20% because I thought we could spend in other areas besides these ones. We spend a lot of our money in these certain areas, and I think we can allocate our funds in other areas. I also cut spending areas like transportation, income security, administration of justice, and general government. These are the areas I wanted to cut because I saw we spend way too much in these areas. I don't think we should be spending a lot of money in general government since a significant amount of money already goes into our government. I would rather have our money spent on things like health care, education, training, employment, and social services and I increased the spending for them by 2.5-5%. I think these areas a lot more important cause they protect the American people, and gives them the benefits that they need to be productive in society. I cut international affair because we should spend more time thinking about the American society, and how we can make our country better. I think the areas I increased spending it would help the economy greatly.

Explanation / Answer

Dear Student, the changes you mentioned in the budget expenditure are appreciable but i want you to think more practically on certain issues like as on employement creation. Employement can be created by the government by simply starting a scheme in the sectors like agriculture, social etc, this will indeed create the job opportunities, which will futher rise the production, thus rising the economic growth, but what about the efficiency and the productivity of this bussinesses is the reason to think about, government investments on science and technology ensures sustainable development, utilization of natural resources, recycling of certain products, impact on health etc. this further lead to economic development of the country which involves factors like environment impact assessment, pollution, standard of living, working hours, working conditions etc, with respect to simple economic growth. Supply chain features like transportation is the backbone of the economy, more strong it is, more strong the economy is, cutting expenditure in transportation investments will weaker the supply chain, thus damage the economic backbone, also expenditure in administration of justice and income security are required, it ensures the confidence of the people in the government and thus cutting expenditure will make it weaker and thus the confidence of people in democracy, which i think comes at the most priority in a country, further expenditure in general governance like digitalisation of various offices, and other transparency measure are essential to further fight with evils like corruption, black money, money leakages etc. thus crippling the country.
