A current event (online) write -up will be due every week on Friday by 11:30 p.m. Please read and follow the instructions, closely:

1) summarized a current event article that you have selected online from a reputable news source such as the Associate Press, CNN, Foxnews, Houston Chronicle (online), etc. The articles MUST be about government, economics, international, local or state government.

3) write at least two paragraphs on your article. A paragragh is at least 3-5 sentences each.

4) cite where you obtain the information from by providing a direct link to the information. In otherwords, when I cut and paste your URL, it will take me directly to your article.

is GDP enough to represent Economic Properity? or Does high GDP mean Economic Propsperity?

GDP ( Gross Domestic Product ) is the standard measurement of the economy progress of a country. If any country having a high GDp thats mean economic condotion of the country is also good according to the economist. but is GDP of country really represents the economic prosperity of that country? is it enough? No , its not enough because its shows a collective progress not individually. so there is another index GPI , which considered another aspect also with the GDP.

GPI (Genuine Progress indicator) was created by think tank Redefining progress in 1995. this method measures economic progress of a country with a its social health. GPI is based on personal consumption, income distribution, housework, volunteering, higher education,crime, pollution, environmental damage, dependence on foreign assets, changes in leosure time etc. GPI is much better index than GDP because its measures social health also with th economy of the country.
