Question

Cultureis the focus of social agency. Please describe the characteristics of culture and the relationships between the individual, meaningful symbols, diverse behavioral patterns, and the dynamics of cultural change. In contrast to Kottak, I place a great deal of emphasis on social action [social relationships] and existential meaningful symbols creating the sociocultural structure. Why do you believe I construct culture and social agency in this fashion? What is your supposition; are symbols and action complimentary in the human experience.

Explanation / Answer

Culture entirely depends on the individual beliefs. The beliefs that each and every individual has varies greatly. Culture is mainly the reflection of spiritual beliefs, devotional beliefs, religion etc. Right from culture of following a particular religion to the culture of dressing everything lies in the hands of human beings. People following different culture or belief follow a set of rules for that particular culture. They define a symbol for their culture and publish their wishes with that.

For example the culture of Hindus is praying to Hindu god and goddess and they believe in the power of karma-i.e., one who does a wrong thing will definitely face the consequences. Similarly christians and muslims pray to their god and goddesses and believe in their own truth and facts.
