With these two values you can calculate the volume of water that you transferred to the bowl. Would this measured volume of water that you transferred from the glass to the bowl then be equivalent to the actual amount of water transferred? This may sound like a silly question. You may think, "Of course it is the actual amount, I just measured it!" But what if the lines that are marked on the glass are not very accurate? What if you were sloppy when reading the volume, or when ring the water? It is quite possible the measured volume and the actual volume pour are different, and the amount of water added to the bowl is not what you initially thought it was. 15
