Ans 2 :

The rate of consumption and production of species are related to each other which is clearly visible in a chemical reaction.

a) 2CO + O2 = 2CO2

Here when 1 mole of O2 gets consumed , then 2 moles of CO2 are formed.

So rate of production of CO2 is double than the rate of consumption of O2.

b) 2As + 3Cl2 = 2AsCl3

The reaction indicates that 2 moles of As gives two moles of AsCl3.

So the rate of consumption of As is equal to the rate of production of AsCl3

c) Cu + 2AgNO3 = Cu(NO3)2 + 2Ag

Now according to the reaction ,when two mole of AgNO3 gets consumed , one mole of Cu(NO3)2 is produced.

So here the rate of consumption of AgNO3 is double than the rate of production of Cu(NO3)2
