Question
Now to combine the stratigraphy with the other aspects of the geology. Derive and explain the history of this hypothetical region from the oldest preserved events to the youngest. Include everything which can be inferred from the drawing including a reasonable interpretation of the likely rock types. To get you started, assume the lowest rocks (the pervasively folded material) are metamorphic. Their protolith cant be determined from this sketch, so you dont need to work any farther back in time than "Some sort of rock was buried deeply enough to be metamorphosed, then next...." For this one, you should certainly be using the principles of stratigraphy but you dont need to state which principles you used for each step. Just tell the geologic story.Explanation / Answer
very firstly by the principle of superposition the layer which lying in the bottom is the oldest so accordingly creamy coloured rock layer is the oldest one which is deposited on the surface and after the some tectonic events its layers become zig zag then igenous intrusion occurs and thrugh the green color dike lava spread on the surface . after the igneous inrusion (green color) sedimentary rock layer depoited by the natural agents. we can easily estimate that the green colour rock layer is older than yellow rock layer by the principle of inclusion. after the deposition of sedimentary layer fault occurs which divides the whole structure then other sedimentray layers deposited on the surface we can again see here principle of inclusion. in last , bright white color dike cuts the whole structure.
