Ionization enthalpy is amount of energy supplied when a neutral atom looses an electron. As the effective nuclear charge increases down the group say from (a) Ca to Sr or from (b) Ga to In, due to increasing atomic number, additional valence shells are also added. Therefore the shielding of valence shell electron decreases down the group. Therefore lesser energy is needed to pull of valence electrons. Therefore, the ionization energy decreases as we go from (a) Ca to Sr or from (b) Ga to In.
