The stereogram shows the area in the southem half of the topographic map. I. One offset stream (known as "Wallace Creek") has been labeled for you on the map (35 16' 16"N, 119 49 38"W). On the map on the following page, use an arrow labeled 1" to identify another stream that has been offset by displacement along the fault. The contour pattern of dry gullies may also provide you with clues. Note: Several streams have had their courses deflected to the left rather than to the right. 1.In the map,the stream which has been displaced by fault is identified to be present in the left hand side of the map because in this region,the stream is indicated by large amount of gap in between them and this indicates that a fault has occured which has caused this separation.
2.The small ridge running parallel to the fault is identified at the right most corner of the map because the dotted lines which extend into the conjusted structure indicate the small ridge which runs parallel to the fault.
3.The region 3 is labelled again at the rightmost corner of the map because the region consists of pool shaped ridges were a sag or a dip is said to occur.
5.The San Andreas Fault is identified to occur at the center protion of the map were the thick center line moves from top to bottom and this serves as a separation between the fault and the displaced streams.
