Compared to other jobs in a field, project management should require large series of skillset. For example to get a job in a company is quite easy for a graduate Because of his subject knowledge which is enough. But in case of project manager he should be able to have industrial knowledge, top communication skills, presentations, relationship management and the list goes on... This is the importance of project manager in any particular field.
The challenges are:
Communication skills: each and every member in the project must have good communication skills to complete the project, without these they cannot communicate with project manager.
Explanations: without giving complete resource for project, and giving deadlines should be managed by the project head in which he plays a key role in the project success.
ENVIRONMENT: working in peaceful atmosphere and quite environment results in delivery of successful projects. So the project management staff must take this challenge and create good environment for everyone in the team.
2. I've personally visited an industry where the staff are supposed to work with clients and promote some company products. There were 3 project managers for them and they used to continuously working to train and improve the quality in members of the group. The project management staff were working more than the satff Because all the people selected for the project are freshers and they are supposed to train them well.
3. The most difficult task as I've seen in my visit for the industry is: improving the communication skills of freshers. The people who joined the firm are good in subject but they are really poor in talking to clients, during their training period the human resources staff used to train them daily and rate their performance on scale of 1 to 10.
4. In my view I really felt this training for communication skills is pretty difficult task as it needs more patience and take care of everyone in the project and develop their skills. I would even love to do this job and by doing this I'm not only improving their communication skills but also improving their strength and build confidence in them to go onboard for the project.
