1) Coordination number is the number of atoms or ions immediately surrounding a central atom in a complex or crystal. Here all ligands are monodentate ligands. That means they join to the metal by one end. That indicates each contributes one to the coordination number. If it is a bidentate ligand it gives two to the coordination number.
