You may get more out of this course if you have some idea of how psychology is applied in an area of interest to you. Psychology has applications in virtually every area of human endeavor, including health, business, sports, therapy, education, and even the design of automobiles and other machines. Chapters from an applied psychology textbook have been placed on reserve in the library, covering these and many other topics. For extra credit, you may select and read one of these chapters and write a "chapter report" on it. (If you decide to do this assignment, first ask the Reserve Desk staff for the "Introduction to Applied Psychology Contents" which gives information on the chapters available.) Your report should be 5 to 6 pages in length, typed (10 or 12 point font) and double-spaced. Your report should summarize the entire chapter, rather than focus on one area or a few areas of a chapter. If you wish, your report may also include any reactions or observations you may have related to the chapter content, based on your personal experiences or other things you have read. Please staple papers in the top left comer - no binders! Be sure to indicate your name and class section on the first page. Papers will be evaluated for content, style, and clarity of presentation. psychology used in therapy- as we all know there are sevral application of psychology in todays society the main reason of it is knowing that we know that psychology place a important role in our life style as well as in our working areas, in our strength , every thing we do have a psychological reason this is well known to us.

as I am about to sumarize a report on how psychology helps in therepies such therapies are known as psychotherapy is kind of talk therepy, psycho social therapy, counseling, etc we can give it such names.

it is a simple way of treating mental health , problems by talking with or by having councelling with the psychiatrist , counseler or psychologist, they help them to fight and tell them diffrent ways to come out and to recover thier mental illness,thoughts and behavior. for most of the people psychotherapy may be sufficient treatment , depending on their mental illness. in some cases psychotherapy is combined with medication.

psychotherepy is a form of intervation between a trained psychotherapist and a client in order to aid in the problems of living. it is a simple way to talk to therapist about your problems in order to resolve issues like mental disorders, dipression, addiction and other mental illness.

In psychotherapy their are sevral techniques to help the clint, this can be done by communication, behavioral conditioning, and other methods which are fit to improve a patient.

# how psychotherapy help, why people consider it-

if talking by a mental health professional, those with depression and other emotional disorders have found that their quality of living is improved , this can be a small increase or being completely cured, the help provided by psychotherapy is vast and long term.

Those with mental health problems who feels like there is no way out of the problem, if they can not helped by a mental health proffesional their first resource outside of the medicine is usually self medicating through drugs , simple spiral out of control, which can lead to even worse mental disorders or suicide, by seeking a psychotherapist, these problems and burdens can be lessoned via supprot and the ways to get well.

a) feeling overwhelmed and despair for long time.

b) their emotional difficulties and problems making simple life complicated and seem imposible.

c) the behavior brought by these emotional damage cause damage in relationsip,or bring some violence condition.

d) they have no one to share and an outside source of help.

# Diffrent types of psychotherapy- psychotherapy which are mostly used are following-

a) Cognitive behavioral therapy ( CBT) - this therapy is a blend of two therapy : cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy. the permise behind cognitive therapy is to focus on a person's thoughts and beliefs , and the influence of a persons mood and actions, alternatively ,behavioral therapy focuses on behavior.

b) Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) - it is form of CBT devloped by marsha linehan specifically to treat people with suicidal thoughts and actions.DBT is structured to help people gain insight and skill to manage emotional behavior , and thoughts about their living.

c) Psychodynamic therapy - it is a form of depth psychology its focus is to help you gain greater self awareness and understanding over your own thoughts and actions. this approach relies heavily on the relationship between client and therepiest with the goal of focusing and identififying and explore how non-conscious emotions and motivations can influence behavior.

Interpersonal therapy (IPT) - it is the most used therepy used on individual basis to treat depression or dysthymia.it focuses on the interpersonal relation of the person, it is based upon that improving communication patterns and the way you relates to others etc.

Family system Therapy- it focuses on work with families and copules in intimate relationships to nurture change and devlopment. this school of therapy views the couple or family as a single system and treatment is done by direct participation of all members in the therapy sessions.

Family focused therapy (FFT) - this help to treat biopolar diorder. this thechnique is designed with the assumption that a patient relationship with his or her family is vital to the success of managing thier illness. this session includes family members with the goal of improving family relationship.

Cognetive-Behavioral Hypnotherapy - it is an integrated approch combining clinical hypnosis and congnitive behavioral therepy.it helps to reduce symptoms at post treatment and may have use in helping to treat post traumatic stress disorder.

their are more therapies which do work for people to get out of their problems because psychologicaly a therapist plays whith their mind and make these things possible.
