b. Predict if Ru2+ will be oxidized by H2O at the standard condition.

c. Predict if Ru2+ will be oxidized by O2 in solution at the standard condition.

d. Predict if Ru2+ will be disproportionate at the standard condition

From the given data for redox couple potentials, we can make the following conclusions:

1. The Ru2+ ion will neither oxidize nor reduce in Water.

2. Ru2+ ion will readily reduce O2, and will get oxidized to Ru3+ ion

3. Ru2+ reduces up to Ru(metallic), as well as Oxidises to Ru3+, i.e. gets disproportionated at standard conditions in an aqueous acid solution.
