Before going into the concept... Let us know the exact differences between fixed and growth mindsets.
FIXED MINDSET: The people having this kind of mindset never tend to learn new concepts, give up easily if they find it difficult. They will never care about the feedback given after solving a problem and to be honest they act like kids without accepting other people's growth. They just study for grades without gaining knowledge.
GROWTH MINDSET: These people mainly target about gaining knowledge and don't usually care about grades. They always aim to crack tough situations in education and enjoy doing them successfully.
Coming to my real-life experience... I used to do mathematics easily but I was a poor student in physics, sciences. I tried going to many teachers but nothing worked out. At that situation the only person who helped me is my senior in school. He told me to try this... Like he asked me to first understand the concept from textbook and then prepare a notes on my own... Making the concepts easier, and I used a different way in my class tests. Highlighting the important lines and writing necessary phrases in capital letters. That helped me way better. Now I can easily study, understand, prepare notes and give that stuff to my juniors.. I am really enjoying it. The joy we get from learning hard subject and later teaching the same to others, making it simple for other students is just an amazing feeling.
Now I really want to thank my senior (*who I feel he is my teacher) without him I wouldn't even pass in few subjects.. The way he trained me is so easy and everyone can give a try. If we feel difficulty in whatever subject it may be, try these steps...
1. First concentrate and try to read the whole question or topic which you feel difficult..
2. Mark the key words in that question and refer to e-books or browse stuff, it would be better if you can draw simple drawings for yourselves to make things easier and understand.
3. Try to practice the questions by writing and practicing them. Get ready for the test. Like other students you don't need to study even before few minutes. If you study even at last minute there is risk like you ma uh forget everything you've studied before. So don't panic and just listen to your favorite music on your way to school before test and take a deep breath before seeing question paper and start answering.
4. Highlight the important points in your answer with capital letters and remember the notes which you prepared for yourselves and then write down the same in your answer sheet.
CONCLUSION: In this way fixed and growth mindsets have strong impact on teaching and learning... Don't fear about the assignment or test, instead face them with confidence and enjoy learning. By practicing this you've already achieved some part of your goals. All the best for your future studies.
