This particular article revolves mainly around the word RETRIEVAL. The meaning of retrieval is the process of obtaining or getting something back from somewhere.

The important aspects of the article are:

A. learning is typically identified with construction of knowledge and retrieval is considered merely the assessment of learning.

My response for this aspect is... Yes retrieval isn't given the importance because students nowadays are only concentrating to pass in the examination and they are forgetting the concept once the examination is done.

B. Retrieval is not often granted the central role it deserves.

myresponse for this aspect is... people often think that studying the same information again and again is the best way.

C. Yet Retrieval practice is a tool many students lack metacognitive awareness.

Because many people assume that re-studying the same topic will increase retention.

2. A. active retrieval is an effective but undervalued strategy for promoting meaningful learning. B. Everytime a person retrieves knowledge, that knowledge is changed.

Because recovering, reconstructing knowledge is attached to context. some studies also proved the importance of context. Repeated Retrieval during learning is important to long-term retention.
