Question

Hello there,

I have a Chemistry presentation and my presentation is about the element Sodium (NA), I have 10 min to talk about this element, but I really don’t not have a lot of information to cover.

I would like a general information about the element Sodium (NA) that covers the most important aspect, and if any images are involved, it would be perfect. I need enough information for 10 minutes straight that can grab the audience’s attention and provide enough understanding of you thi element.

No plagirism should be involved one so ever !

Thank you for your time ..

Explanation / Answer

Sodium is one of the most abundtnat elements in the earths crust.

sodium is alakli metal and is one of the group-1 element. Its atomic number is 11. Its electronic configuration is 1s22s22p63s1. its mass number is 23.

Atomic numbef indicates the number of eletrons which in turn will be equal to the number of protons.

There is only one valency electron in the outermost orbit of sodium. hence, it has a tendency to loose the electrons to ensure there are octet number of electrons in the outermost orbit. This makes soldium highyl reatice,

An element which has a tendency to loose an electron is said to be electropositive,. for the same reason sodium is good conductor of electricity. Becuae of its high reactivity, it is not available in nature in free form and is avaialbe in the form of NaCl or Na2O.

there are around 22 isotopes of sodium out of which only 23 Na is stable and theie meltring point is higher than that of potasiium salts.

the products from sodium include NaCl, NaOH, Na2CO3 and NaHCO3. All of them are having industral significance. All these products tend to dissolved in water

the soap used are sodium salts and
