Question

Environmental Science

Directions: Four distinct biomes have been selected for you and written into the “Biome” column. The assignment includes three different parts:

Comment on and describe the species normally found in that biome in the “Species” column.

In the “Climate” column you will be ranking the four different ecosystems by comparing the relative amount of precipitation and average temperature found in each biome. AS you can see there are two spaces in which you must add ranking (1,2, 3 or 4) for the precipitation AND temperature. A score of “4” would be the highest (the most), and a score of “1” would be the lowest for each. For example, if grasslands had the highest amount of precipitation a year, it would get a “4”, and if it had the lowest average annual temperature, it would receive a “1”. No rank number should be used more than once.

Finally, you must rank each biome in regard to its biodiversity. The biome with the lowest biodiversity would receive a “1”, and the biome with the highest biodiversity would get a “4”. NOTE: No two biomes should have the same “rank” for climate (precipitation, temperature) or biodiversity.
