The calculation should be done by the knowledge of complexometric titration. As we know that edta will form 1:1 complex with Mg, therefore from the volume measurement of standard edta solution, we can calculate the amount of MgO as follows:
First we consider the average value of volume of edta required and which will be, ~ 33.058
V (edta) x S (edta) = V (MgO) x S (MgO)
33.058 x 0.01245 = 10 x S (MgO)
or, S (MgO) = 0.0411 M
Hence, 1.656 g (molar strength x FW) of MgO is there in 1000 mL of solution.
So, in 250 mL solution there will be 0.414 g of MgO present.
