So for the first part I'm mainly interested which section is wrong, I might've looked something over but both my book and the internet really aren't helping so apologies in that regard. The last section is fairly straightforward and I did have a answer prepared, just wanted to double check with some one knowledgable to see if I'm on the right track.

Explanation / Answer

Why are buffers are added to some aspirin products ?

Aspirin also known as acetylsalicylic acid is made by the esterification of salicylic acid and acetyl chloride. The ester bonds are usually very weak and easily hydrolysable. In the stomach, it gets hydrolyzed to salicylic acid. But the aspirin absorption in the stomach is very slow and usually take place in the small intestine. So this acid might create indigestion and stomach burn problem in some individuals. So they are usually mixed with some antacids/buffers such as MgCO3 or MgO, so that it cannot alter the pH of the stomach significantly till it reaches the small intestine.
