his question has multiple parts. Work all the parts to get the most points. aFor the following unbalanced equation, indicate how many moles of the second reactant would be required to react with exact 0.220 mol of the first reactant. mol KI b For the folowing unbalanced equation, indicate how many moles of the second reactant would be required to react with exactly 0.200mol of the frst reactant. Co(s) P(s)-CoP2(s) mol P CFor the following unbalanced equation, indicate how many moles ofthe second reactant would be required to react with exac 0.285 mol of the first reactant. Zn(s) HNOa(a) Zn(NO)(ag)H2(9) mol HNO For the following unbalanced equation, ndicate how many moles of the second reactant would be required to react with exactly 0365 mol of the first reactant. CHI)02(g) CO2() +H20(9) mol 02

Explanation / Answer

a) the balanced equation will be

Cl2(g) + 2KI(aq) ---> I2(g) + 2KCl(aq)

So here one mole of first reactant (Cl2) will react with two moles of second reactant (KI)

With 0.220 moles of Cl2 0.440 moles of KI will react

b)

The balanced reaction will be

6Co(s) + P4(s) ---> 2Co3P2(s)

As per balanced equation , six moles of first reactant (Co) will react with one mole of second reactant (P4)

So with one mole of first reactant = 1/6 moles of second reactant will be required

with 0.20 moles = 0.2 / 6 moles of second reactant will be required = 0.033 moles of second reactant

c) the balanced equation will be:

Zn(s) + 2HNO3(aq) ---> Zn(NO3)2 +H2(g)

As per balanced equation one mole of first reactant (Zn) will react with two moles of second reactant (HNO3)

So with 0.285 moles of Zn the moles of second reactant required = 2 X 0.285 = 0.57 moles

d) The balanced equation will be

C6H12(g) + 6O2 ---> 6CO2 + 6H2O(l)

So here one mole of first reactant (C6H12) will react with six moles of O2

with 0.365 moles of first reactant will react with 6X0.365 moles of O2 = 2.19 moles of O2
