Solution :-
a) Normal melting point is the temperature at which a substance in its solid state gets converted to liquid state at normal atmospheric pressure. Normal atmospheric pressure is 1atm.
So from the phase diagram Melting point of Xenon=161.3K
Normal boiling point is the temperature at which a substance in its liquid state gets converted to gaseous state at normal atmospheric pressure.
So from the phase diagram the boiling point of Xenon= 165K
b) In the phase diagram it is shown that the three lines showing Solid-Liquid, Liquid-Gas and Solid-Liquid interphases come together at 0.37atm pressure and at 152K temperature. This intersection point is known as triple point. And at this particular point solid, liquid and gaseous phase coexists.
So at 152K temperature and 0.37atm pressure three phases coexit in equilibrium for Xenon.
c) At room temperature and pressure, that is at 298K and 1atm pressure Xenon is a gas.
It is a permanant gas at room temperature.
d) Solid phase is more dense. From the phase diagram we can see that the solid liquid line is inclined towards right. Implying solid phase is denser than liquid phase.
