Arhenius equation will be used to calculate the activation energy
The equation is lnK=lnKo-Ea/RT, where K is the rate constant corresponding to the temperature in K. Ea is activation energy and R= gas constant= 8.314 J/mole.K and T is temperature in K
at two different temperatures T1 and T2, where the rate constants are K1 and K2
the equation becomes ln (K2/K1)= (Ea/R)*(1/T1-1/T2)
or lnK2-lnK1= Ea/R*(1/T1-1/T2)
slope is -Ea/R = ln(K2/K1)/ (1/T2-1/T1)= difference in y axis/ different in x axis
hence x1= 1/T1= 1/275= 0.0036/K and K1=0.385/sec, lnK1(y1)= ln(0.385) = -0.9545, x2= 1/T2= 1/725=0.001379/K
K2= 0.657/sec, lnK2(y2)= -0.42, rise = difference in y axis = -0.42-0.9545= 0.5345 and run= difference in x axis = 0.0036-0.001379=0.002257,
slope = -Ea/R= -rise/run=-0.5345/0.002257=-236
Ea=236*8.314 j/moles =1969 joules/mole
