CHCl3 + Cl2 ---> CCl4 + HCl

moles of CHCl3 = 25 g/119.4 g/mol = 0.21 mol

moles of Cl2 = 25 g/70.906 g/mol = 0.35 mol

Since moles of CHCl3 is lower, this is the limiting reagent

Maximum yield of CCl4 formed = 0.21 mol x 153.82 g/mol = 32.30 g

2. moles of glucose = 25 g/180.156 g/mol = 0.14 mol

moles of O2 = 40 g/32 g/mol = 1.25 mol

moles of O2 needed for complete consumption of glucose = 0.14 x 6 = 0.84 mol
