Ans- whooping cough is caused by the infection of B. pertussis.the symptoms include cough, sneezing and fever like common cold. it is considered an emerging infectious disease in California because it is a air borne disease and can spread through the breathing and sneezing of patient. Due to its easy mode of transmission it is one of most emerging infections.

The pertussis can spread from the starting of first symptoms to until the three weeks of coughing fits.

The scripture is related to disease as the symptoms of whooping cough also include fever, coughing and sneezing. The lady in Scripture is also suffering from fever and hence can be taken as a whooping cough patients.
